Benjamin Beirs is a guitarist with “sensitive phrasing” (Washington Post) who no longer hews “to the dogma of the Segovia era.” (Sacramento Bee) He completed three degrees from Peabody Institute under the tutelage of Julian Gray from 2002-2009 and during that time won numerous prizes of international guitar and music competitions. He toured France and England regularly with his guitar duo “Duo Transatlantique,” from 2005-2015 and studied for a semester with Roland Dyens at the Paris Conservatoire in 2008. In 2013, he moved to Paris to perfect his studies under the tutelage of Judicael Perroy. He has performed worldwide, including France, notably at the Archives Nationales in Paris, England, India, USA, notably the Kennedy Center, Dubai, U.A.E., and South Korea. During the 5 years in Paris, he began his transition from full-time guitar teacher and performer to a hybrid career between music and yoga. He moved to Berlin, Germany at the beginning of 2019, where he continues his study and practice of yoga while composing and performing both locally and internationally. His most recent album, “Blue Sky Dreams” is a harmonious fusion between Beirs’ classical training, his original songs, and mantras that sends the listener on a borderless journey into the vast blue sky. He regularly uploads new videos on his YouTube channel.
